It's very important to find the right size:

Measure your dog's width/girth by wrapping a tape measure around your dog's chest, just behind the front legs.
The chest size recommended will be 2 inches less than the product size in the size chart, which would provide some space for adjustment. If your dog's chest is approaching the max chest size, you may choose the next size up.
